FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
What
are the benefits of Concrete Resurfacing?
Cost
Effectiveness
Resurfacing your concrete eliminates the cost and time to remove an
existing concrete slab. We are able to achieve a prestigious slate,
flagstone, cobblestone, or brick look at a fraction of the cost of a
natural stone installation.
Address
Existing Problems
We already know where your problems lie with your existing slab. It
is more cost effective to address the problems rather than remove
and replace with a new slab the will eventually have its own repair
problems.
Low
Maintenance
Since our finished product is less porous than normal concrete, it
can be easily cleaned. Concrete resurfacing is maintained by having
a vapor permeable sealer applied every five to seven years. We are
able to match colors and patterns that are 10 years old without
having to resurface the entire area.
Artistic
Design
By using a concrete polymer, we are able to apply any design you can
think of. You are not limited by color or pre-fabricated
designs...only your imagination. Concrete Resurfacing has become a
vogue trend in home improvement because you are able to interject
your own personal style into the project. We encourage you to think
outside the box when it comes to concrete resurfacing. We do!
Selecting
Concrete Resurfacing, Inc. means you are selecting a customer
service oriented company. We have been resurfacing concrete for over
17 years, incorporating our experience with using the best products
in the industry to continually provide authentic concrete upgrades.
How
long does Concrete Resurfacing last?
Concrete Resurfacing is
a permanent upgrade to your existing concrete. Concrete resurfacing
is simply a process of adding a layer of polymer-modified concrete
to your existing concrete. If your concrete is not going anywhere,
neither is the resurfacing. Concrete Resurfacing, when applied by a
professional, does not peel off or wear off from the surface. Custom
Concrete Upgrade, Inc. warranties any bondage failure due to normal
expansion and contraction of the existing substrate for four years
after completion of the project.
Do
the colors fade?
No. We use a water base
stain to enhance our resurfacing. Our final step is to seal the
concrete using a vapor permeable sealer. The sealer protects the
colors from typical UV ray fading. We suggest that your resurfacing
project is resealed every five to seven years to ensure its long
lasting color.
Will
Concrete Resurfacing crack?
If
the concrete underneath cracks, then concrete resurfacing may crack
with the movement of the slabs. We can address these problems with a
couple of options; either by applying a random flagstone pattern
which will hide any reappearing cracks, or apply crack filler which
will minimize the cracks appearance.
Concrete resurfacing is a maintainable surface which means
that repairs can be done if earth movement causes cracking or
lifting of the slab.
